2008 Oregon Football Preview:
Head Coach: Mike Bellotti
Head Coach Mike Bellotti has got his Ducks all in a row for 2008. Bellotti was named to the Paul "Bear" Bryant College Football Coach of the Year award in 2007, and not just for twiddling his thumbs. Last year, the team reached as high as #2 in the national rankings before their season slowly declined to injuries. With hopeful standouts Jeremiah Johnson (RB) and Jaison Williams (WR) returning to the team this season, the 2008 Oregon Ducks are ready to best last year's record of 9-4, and are looking for another postseason appearance.
The Ducks will have pressure to strike early with defense this season, to give their offense the footing it needs to play solid all year long. Regardless of who's returning, this program is going to perform under Bellotti, and Oregon fans will be cheering louder than ever this season. Be sure to catch the season closer versus Oregon State, as Oregon looks to avenge last year's loss that cut their streak in the rivalry.

The Oregon Ducks play in the Pac-10 Conference, competing with the tough football programs at USC, Cal, Arizona State, and the University of Washington. Oregon fielded its first football team in 1894. Legendary players who have donned the green and yellow Ducks uniform include Norv Turner, Dan Fouts, and Ahmad Rashad. Who can forget the famous Oregon comeback in 1970, when Dan Fouts brought the ducks back from a 40-21 deficit with five minutes left to win 41-40. Or the incredible double overtime victory in 2000 against Arizona State when Joey Harrington was able to tie the game with 27 seconds left to force the extra period, ultimately giving Oregon the 56-55 victory. The Oregon Ducks’ history is rich with exciting finishes, controversy, and drama.
