2008 Alabama Football Preview:
With 12 national championships, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team is perhaps the most celebrated program in college football history.  Coached by the legendary Paul “Bear” Bryant for 25 years, the Alabama Crimson Tide is rich with history and tradition and is always a fierce competitor in the SEC Conference and a BCS Bowl contender.  Coach Nick Saban hopes lead the team to another national title in the coming years.  Watching the Alabama Crimson Tide at a home game at Bryant-Denny Stadium is a college football experience you don’t want to miss.

On Monday, July 14, the University of Alabama sold 8,400 publicly announced tickets to six home games in less than one hour. We still have tickets for all Crimson Tide home games, of course, but based on these numbers you can bet that the Crimson Tide fans are not going to miss an incredible season. Regardless that senior linebacker Zeke Knight is medically disqualified for the season, Alabama hopes to pack record crowds into Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2008.

Head Coach Nick Saban is looking forward to his second season with the Tide. Although the team improved their 2006 record in 2007 and won their bowl game match-up, (7-6), Saban is looking for more wins in 2008 and another bowl game berth. Alabama will see 17 returning starters this season, so look out for a strong line-up. Make sure to catch Alabama vs. Auburn this year, as the Tide tries to break a six year losing streak with their historic rivals.

Alabama Crimson Tide first fielded a college football team in 1892.  First a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association and then the Southern Conference, the Crimson Tide won 4 conference championships before joining the SEC in 1933.  The list of great players who’ve worn the crimson and white seems endless.  Shaun Alexander, Cornelius Bennett, Ozzie Newsome, Kenny Stabler, and Joe Namath are just a few.  And who can forget the 1992 season under coach Gene Stallings when the Crimson Tide finished the regular season 11-0, winning the SEC Championship and then defeating the #1 ranked Miami Hurricanes in the Sugar Bowl 34-13 to win the national title?

Alabama Crimson Tide plays its home games at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  The stadium has a capacity of more than 92,000 and is the 7th largest college stadium in America.  The Crimson Tide’s record at Bryant-Denny is the best home record in the NCAA.  Watching a game there with nearly 100,000 fans cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide is an incredible tradition to be a part of.  Buy Alabama football tickets and witness the college football experience!
