Bill Synder Family Football Stadium is an outdoor football stadium at the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, Kansas. The field is used exclusively for football, and is the home field of the Kansas State Wildcats. The stadium was named in 2005 for outgoing legendary Kstate football coach Bill Snyder who, when asked what the stadium should be named for, replied they should name it for the people he most cared about - his family. Visitors to Bill Snyder Family Stadium are generally impressed by the level of fan support for the Kansas State Wildcats football team. Additionally the stadium saw a multi-million dollar 2006 renovation that upgraded some of the seating and installed state of the art audio/visual electronics.
Bill Snyder Stadium was opened in 1968 with a capacity of only 35,000. In 1970, 7,000 additionally seats were added along with an AstroTurf field. The field was named Wagner Field in 1991 and the turf was again replaced. Bill Snyder Stadium was again renovated in 1993 and 1998 adding seats and a press box, and installing luxury boxes. By 2006, the field had been changed to FieldTurf and the capacity was raised to 52,200. In addition to Kstate football, the stadium has also hosted Kansas high school football games.
