The Florida Panthers play hockey in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team first played as an expansion team in Miami, Florida in 1993. The team had one of the most successful first seasons of any expansion team in history. In 1996 the Florida Panthers would even reach the Stanley Cup Finals as the #4 seed in the Eastern Conference, only to be swept by Colorado. The team has struggled since starting 17-0 the following season. The acquisition of Pavel Bure briefly infused some success for the team, and the Panthers also moved to the BankAtlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, but the team has since fallen in the standings. This could be the Florida Panthers’ turnaround season. The Florida Panthers play their home games at the BankAtlantic Center in the Ft.
