Floyd Casey Stadium is an outdoor football stadium used exclusively as the home field of the Baylor University Bears football team. The stadium is located on the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas. Formerly known as Baylor Stadium, the name change occurred in 1988 after the Casey family donated $5 million in honor of their late father, Floyd. Visitors to Floyd Casey Stadium are struck by Grant Teaff plaza, which wraps all the way around Floyd Casey Stadium, and features a statue of Grant Teaff, Baylor’s legendary football coach who led the Bear’s to two Southwest Conference titles.
Floyd Casey Stadium was first opened in 1950 as Baylor Stadium. It has seen various upgrades and expansions over the years. In the ‘90s, the Letterman’s Lounge was added to the west side of the stadium, providing a beautiful and comfortable area for former athletes to support the football team. The ‘90s saw updates to the Floyd Casey Stadium as well as the opening of the Carl and Thelma Casey Athletic Center with locker rooms, training facilities, and offices. The 21st century has seen the addition of state of the art video and audio projects, luxury suites and a new press box.
