2008-2009 Georgetown Hoyas Basketball Preview:
This season could be a tough one for the Hoyas, coming off a struggle last season to make a deeper run into the NCAA Tournament.  Coach John Thompson will have to really push his players to get the same response as last year's program, and the Hoyas will likely struggle to make an NCAA bid unless they pull together.  Watch for recruit Greg Monroe, who could be a boon for the team in the paint.  Make sure to catch a Hoyas game this season, as they will be fighting it out with the rest of the Big East all season long.

Georgetown plays their home basketball games at the Verizon Center in Washington DC.  The Verizon Center is a multi-use facility in DC that caters to concerts, sports and other events.  It is also the home of the Washington Wizards, Capitals and Mystics.  The Verizon Center opened in 1997 and has a capacity for basketball of approximately 20,000 fans.  The Verizon Center is owned by Washington Sports & Entertainment.
