Playing in the SEC provides the Bulldogs with some of the toughest competition in the nation. Rivalries abound. Georgia has played Auburn 110 times in “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry”. Their cross-state rivals, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, give them a tough game each year in a game known as “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate”. “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” is the annual game played between Georgia and the Florida Gators. Georgia has suited a long list of talented players. Herschel Walker, Hines Ward, and Champ Bailey are only a few. Who can forget the 1980 Sugar Bowl team led by Walker that beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 17-10 to go undefeated and win the national title?
