2008 Georgia Football Preview:
Head Coach: Mark Richt
The Georgia Bulldogs take to the field this season, already armed with the ammunition necessary to win a national title. Head Coach Mark Richt and the team are ready to tear the hide off any contender who gets in their way. With 16 returning starters and 45 returning letter winners, the 2008 Georgia Bulldogs are as big as they get. Watch out for sophomore Knowshon Moreno, who turned heads in 2007 with 1,334 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. Moreno was elected SEC freshman of the year in 2007, and he's not ready to let go of the buzz just yet.
The Bulldogs will have some contention to deal with, however, playing a tough schedule against football giants including: Tennessee, Central Michigan, Arizona State, and LSU. The team will have to keep their pace through the middle of the season to guarantee a solid finish. Come out in 2008 and cheer on the Bulldogs all the way to a national championship!

The Georgia Bulldogs football program is always one of the top tier football teams in the country. Sitting at Sanford Stadium, you’ll hear the school fight song, “Georgia, Georgia” sung to the tune of “the Battle Hymn of the Republic”, and you’ll feel like the Bulldogs have really shown up for battle. Cries of “How ’bout them dogs!” will resonate throughout the stadium. At halftime, you’ll be awed by the size and power of the 375-member Redcoat band, as they continue a tradition more than 100 years old. A home game in the storied Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia is an experience you’ll never forget!
The Georgia Bulldogs first fielded a football team in 1892. The team was a founding member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA), and then moved to the Southern Conference before joining the SEC in 1932. Playing in the SEC provides the Bulldogs with some of the toughest competition in the nation. Rivalries abound. Georgia has played Auburn 110 times in “The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry”. Their cross-state rivals, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, give them a tough game each year in a game known as “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate”. “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” is the annual game played between Georgia and the Florida Gators. Georgia has suited a long list of talented players. Herschel Walker, Hines Ward, and Champ Bailey are only a few. Who can forget the 1980 Sugar Bowl team led by Walker that beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 17-10 to go undefeated and win the national title?
The Georgia Bulldogs play their home games at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. Holding over 92,000 spectators, the field is surrounded by privet hedges in emulation of the Rose Bowl.
