The ACC's foremost contender for a national title is coming back in 2008, primarily concerned with filling holes left at the end of last year. Two quarterbacks will likely take control of this Virginia Tech team, substituting for each other because of each's unique abilities. Sean Glennon and Tyrod Taylor should give the Hokies enough power to make some offensive plays and win some games. However, it will be up to the defense to keep alive a weak returning offense.

Cornerbacks Brandon Flowers and Victor Harris are going to be the big defensive movers for this year's Hokies team. Head Coach Frank Beamer will have to rethink the defensive strategy, as he is losing two big-name linebackers and three defensive line starters. The strong secondary will have to make some big plays to keep the Hokies on their toes, and to give the new recruits an opportunity for some game experience.

The Virginia Tech Hokies football team is perennially one of the most competitive teams in college football.  Head Coach Frank Beamer is ranked 3rd among active coaches in winning percentage.  Only Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno have better records.  The Virginia Tech Hokies have made it to a bowl game every year since 1993, giving them the fourth longest postseason streak in the nation.  Virginia Tech Hokies have five conference championships and played for a national championship in 2000, losing to the Florida State Seminoles in the Sugar Bowl.
