The Meineke Car Care Bowl is an annual postseason college football bowl game played in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game features the fifth choice teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Big East Conference. The 2006 game was played between Navy and Boston College, Navy having made an agreement with the bowl to play a team from the ACC that particular year. Since then, the Big East has returned as the conference tie in for the bowl. The Meineke Car Care Bowl was originally called the Queen City Bowl and then the Continental Tire Bowl until Meineke took over as sponsor.
First played in 2002, Virginia won the first two Meineke Car Care Bowls. Matt Schaub was chosen as the MVP of the 2004 game. Boston College defeated North Carolina the following year. NC State would shut out South Florida in 2005, and in 2006 Boston College won again, this time defeating Navy.
Bank of America Stadium, site of the Meineke Car Care Bowl and home of the NFL Carolina Panthers, seats over 73,000 spectators.
