The Sooners teams under Stoops have been known for their stingy defenses and aggressive playing style. OU's division, the Big 12 South, is one of the most difficult divisions in football. It features annual match ups with the Oklahoma State Cowboys (Bedlam Series), Texas Longhorns (Red River Shootout, Red River Rivalry), Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Tech Red Raiders.
