The Pacific-10 Conference (Pac-10) is host to some of the best teams in the nation. The conference’s member institutions are geographically situated in the western United States - in Washington, Oregon, Arizona and California. The Pac-10 was officially established in 1959, but it claims the history of its predecessor - the Pacific Coast Conference (since 1915) - as its own. In the past 18 seasons, Pac-10 members have claimed 159 NCAA team titles - an average of more than eight championships per academic year.
Pac-10 football teams are some of the strongest teams in the nation. In the 2007-2008 season, the conference sent six teams to bowl games. At the end of the season, four teams (USC, Arizona State, Oregon and Oregon State) were ranked within the top 25 teams in the nation. Watch out for Arizona State in the 2008 season - they are paired to play the powerhouse Georgia Bulldogs and it is sure to be and exciting matchup. Be sure and grab some tickets to a Pac-10 game this year.
