The Roadys Truck Stops Bowl, or Roadys Humanitarian Bowl, is an annual postseason college football bowl game played in Boise, Idaho. The game features one team from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with a team from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Previous sponsors include MPC Computers and Crucial.com. Played since 1997, the game is the longest running cold weather (outdoor in a cold climate) bowl game in college football. With a $750,000 payout, it requires participants to provide their own sponsorship, purchase a minimum number of tickets and stay at designated hotels for a minimum stay. Invitations to the game have been turned down by teams such as UCLA in 2001.
The Roadys Humanitarian Bowl is played at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. The stadium is on the campus of Boise State University, and is well recognized for its blue playing surface. Boise State has the most appearances at the Humanitarian Bowl with four. They have won three of the four games, and have an incredible record on their home field. The 2006 game featured Miami versus Nevada, in which Miami would win 21-20 in Hurricanes coach Larry Coker’s last game as head coach. The action of the game was marred by an apparent refereeing mistake made when an instant replay call took a first down away from Nevada that would likely have given them a chance to win the game.
