The Rose Bowl is one of the five major bowl games that comprise the BCS.  The Rose Bowl is commonly referred to as "The Granddaddy of Them All".  The Rose Bowl game is played in the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California every January.  And unless the Rose Bowl was the home of the BCS Championship Game, then the Rose Bowl has always played on New Year's Day.

Over its 100 years, the Rose Bowl has produced numerous thrilling moments that have helped shape the history of the college football.  From Wisconsin's narrow 21-16 victory over UCLA in 1994 to earn their programs first Rose Bowl trophy.  To Southern Cal's dramatic comeback victory over upstart Northwestern in the 1996 game.  When the Northwestern Wildcats were making their first visit in 50 years to the Rose Bowl, and were the huge emotional favorite.  To Texas winning the 2005 Rose Bowl over Michigan on a last second field goal by Dusty Mangum.  A field goal that would help propel Texas in to the next season and a return visit to Pasadena, where they defeated the mighty USC Trojans to win the BCS National Title.  That 2006 Rose Bowl matchup has been called one of the greatest games in the history of college football.

The Rose Bowl has been played in Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena every year, except one, since it opened in 1922.  The one exception was 1942 when the game was moved to Wallace Wade Stadium in North Carolina.  The Rose Bowl stadium was opened in 1922, and the stadium has a capacity of over 90,000 football fans.  The UCLA Bruins play their regular season home games at the Rose Bowl.  The Rose Bowl is a large bowl, so it provides consistently good sight lines from everywhere in the stadium.

The first Rose Bowl was played in 1902.  The Rose Bowl is placed in conjunction with the Tournament of Roses Parade, which is a huge parade watched by over a million people every year.  The Rose Bowl has had just a few main sponsors over the year, including; AT&T and Citi.  The Pac 10 and Big 10 conferences both have conference tie-ins to the Rose Bowl.  So buy your Rose Bowl Tickets today and witness firsthand the pageantry of one of the greatest bowl games being played!
