The Arkansas Razorbacks football program is one of the most exciting and storied programs in college football. The 2008 Arkansas Razorbacks are a brand new team this year, losing several key offensive players from last year's roster. The Razorbacks also lost their head coach, Houston Nutt, who was replaced by Bobby Petrino. Coach Petrino's inaugural season will give him the opportunity to shape an entirely fresh football team, building them as he warms to the program.
The schedule for Arkansas in 2008 is a difficult one, as the Razorbacks will play eight teams that played in bowl games in the 2007 season. Because many of the players that comprised Arkansas' all-star running game last season are gone, Petrino and the boys will have to rely on more passing to keep their offense effective. Watch out for Casey Dick and Jonathan Luigs, veterans who are bound to make some hair-singing plays this season. The Arkansas Razorbacks football program first fielded a team 1894. The team played in the now defunct Southwest Conference (SWC) before moving to the SEC in 1991.
