Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is an outdoor football stadium located on the campus of the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. It is primarily used as the home field for the Ole Miss Rebels football team. Opened in 1915, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is named for Judge William Hemingway, a law professor and athletic committee chairman, and legendary football coach Johnny Vaught. The playing surface itself is named Hollingsworth Field after longtime athletics supporter Jerry Hollingsworth. Vaught-Hemingway was built as a federally sponsored project where students helped with the construction of the original stands. The Vaught-Hemingway Stadium didn’t have the size and amenities, however, to allow Ole Miss to play all their home games at home, forcing them to travel to Jackson for many games against their rivals - LSU, Mississippi State, and Southern Mississippi. Most recently, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium has seen the south end bleachers replaced with a permanent bowl, luxury boxes, club seating, and even an upper deck, bringing the current capacity to more than 60,000.
