The Hawks are ending their season at this point, so if they’re in the playoff chase, Philips Arena is definitely a good place to be on game night.
In April, Atlanta hosts the Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park that always features a good headline band, and the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival is also not to be missed. If you want to get to the city before it becomes Hotlanta, this is the time to do it.

Summer in Atlanta
The Braves are mid-way through the season at this point, and the summer nights at Turner Field are always fun. Concert tours are making their way across the country and most, if not all, will make a stop in Atlanta. At venues like the Atlanta Symphony Hall, the Fox Theatre, Philips Arena, Cobb Energy PAC and Masquerade, bands big and small come into the city to showcase their live act.
Summer in Atlanta is also festival time. The Atlanta Summer Beer Fest, Modern Atlanta Design is Human Festival, 4th of July at Centennial Olympic Park and the Decatur BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival all brings the city together for some summer fun.

Fall in Atlanta
Fall is football time in the South, and when the Georgia Dome gets fired up for some Atlanta Falcons football, you want to be there. The Falcons are the biggest show in town and 70K+ pack into the Dome to watch the Dirty Birds do their thing. Located on the outskirts of downtown Atlanta, the Dome is the place to be every Sunday in the fall. On Saturday, check out the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium, less than two miles north of the Georgia Dome.
The Braves are in contention most every fall, and there’s a lot of other stuff going on in the city including the Atlanta Arts Festival, Dragon Con and the A3C Hip Hop Festival. The weather is beautiful in the fall and it’s the epicenter of football in the South.

Winter in Atlanta
It’s cooled down in the winter in Atlanta, but you’re still usually escaping the snow and freezing temperatures. The Hawks season is well underway and we’re getting to the make or break part of the season at the Philips Arena. The arena is right next door to the Georgia Dome and it easily accessible from downtown Atlanta. There are also winter/Christmas shows that go on throughout the city at the many live music and theater venues. The performing arts scene is diverse.
