Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum is an indoor multi-purpose athletic arena on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. The arena is home to the Auburn Tigers men’s and women’s basketball teams. Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum also houses the Auburn women’s gymnastics team. Named after legendary Auburn basketball coach Joel Eaves and Auburn’s most successful athletic director Jeff Beard, the arena was opened in 1969. Visitors to the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum will be struck by the building’s imposing concrete exterior and the enormous “War Eagle” that guards the entrance.
Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum has in its history hosted not only Auburn basketball games and gymnastic events, but has also been used for Auburn wrestling, and as an indoor facility for the track and field team. The arena also houses most of the Auburn University athletic department offices. Perhaps the most memorable event at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum happened in 1999, when Auburn’s men’s basketball team beat Vanderbilt to win the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championship. The team has had a stellar home record at the Coliseum for the last 20 years (198-73)!
Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum holds 10,500 spectators for basketball games. The arena provides a classic venue for basketball in the ultra-competitive SEC. Visitors to Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum will find themselves in a loud and electric environment, and visiting teams will find it a challenge to stay focused against a tough Auburn team, especially if they’re playing Alabama. But Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum tickets today and never miss an Auburn athletics event!
