Austin360 Amphitheater 5 5 2 2
Awesome Venue The Austin360 Amphitheater is a great outdoor venue. There are great views of the stage from all sections, including the lawn section. The floor section is seated with portable seating but everyone on the floor stands so the chair is really just a reserved standing spot. I sat in section 106 just behind the floor section in the first row and it was perfect. I was able to sit the entire show, put my feet up on the rail and had enough elevation to see the stage clearly. Because my section was off slightly to the right of the stage I had easy/quick access to the restrooms and the concessions area. Parking is a little tricky - You can park for free in the "A" lot section (which is huge) but then you in for a hike to the front gates. Depending how early you get there and how far you are it could be about a half mile. There are petty cabs available to pedal you up to the front but not enough to handle the crowd. My advice is to pay for parking in "B", "C" or "D" which puts you right in the front with a short walk to the gate and a quick exit once the show is over. I'm looking forward to the upcoming summer concert season and checking out more events. April 24, 2013
Austin 360 Amphitheater a great concert venue Austin 360 Amphitheater at Circuit of the Americas is the first, large outdoor amphitheater in the "Live Music Capital of the World" (Austin, TX) and it does not disappoint. A360 has vast open areas as it sits inside the COTA race track, but feels much smaller once you are inside the amphitheater. It's capacity is around 14,000 with only around 5,200 reserved seats for most shows. The best feature may be the beautiful night sky, which is full of stars since the city lights of Austin are miles away. There are 3 types of parking for most shows: standard, premium & VIP. The standard parking is available to anyone and does not require you to purchase ahead of time (cost is $12-20 per car). Premium costs $25 and must be purchased before you go out there. VIP almost must be purchased in advance (check TicketCity for latest prices). COTA is a big place, so all parking requires a fair amount of walking. The VIP parking allows you to park inside the track, in area behind the A360 stage. Traffic leaving the amphitheater can be very congested for a big show, so plan accordingly to avoid getting stuck in a traffic jam. There are food trucks and concession stands that sell a range of food from tacos to pizza to peanuts. Drink stands offer water, soda, beer, wine and other options. The VIP tent (check with TicketCity) offers a full, cash bar. There is a great lawn behind the amphitheater with plenty of chairs & games (bean bag toss) where all of the food & drinks are located. Its a great place to hang out before the show. But note there are very few shaded areas at A360/COTA, so dress for the heat, wear sun screen and bring your sun glasses. For a 7pm show in the Summer, the sun may still be out until 8:30pm. The reserved seats at A360 have a floor area, that may be setup as GA or reserved seats. The 100-level seats follow that with the 200-level seats behind those. The front floor or first few rows of the 100-level seats are best place to sit. The lawn seating behind can add up to 10,000 additional music fans. Overall, Austin 360 Amphitheater is a great music venue. Go check it out! May 7, 2013
