Constructed in 1933, Hogg Auditorium is considered the "grand dame" of the University's Performing Arts Center (PAC). For many years this was the largest venue in Austin. Now considered a mid-size venue, the auditorium comfortably seats 1200. This stately venue still hosts operas, plays, concerts, and international touring groups.
The University of Texas at Austin's beloved Hogg Memorial Auditorium (HMA) is close to the Four Seasons, Sheraton, and Driskill hotels as well as the popular Market District. The auditorium is gradually being renovated to return it to its 1930s era elegance. Past performers at Hogg Auditorium include Etta James, Sinead O'Connor, and Jon Thor Birgisson. The auditorium also hosts lectures. Those who have spoken in the past include David Mamet and Lawrence Lessig. Both spoke about politics, their lives, and their careers.
Tickets for performances at Hogg Auditorium may be purchased online; at The Erwin Center; Austin area HEB stores and Central Markets; or at any Texas Box Office outlet.
