The Baylor Bears first fielded a football team in 1899. Baylor’s greatest football success came under the leadership of head coach Grant Teaff, who took over a struggling Baylor team in 1972, and within two years managed to win the program’s first Southwest Conference title since 1924. That season and the win that year over the rival Texas Longhorn team are still referred to as “the Miracle on the Brazos” after the river near Baylor campus. Teaff managed to put the Baylor Bears on the college football map, and the current squad looks to continue his legacy and hopefully even improve on it.
The Baylor Bears play their home games at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas.
