2014 BCS National Championship Game Preview
For the fifth consecutive year the state of Alabama will be represented in the BCS National Championship, but Orange and Navy is the new Crimson and White. After what was arguably one of the greatest moments in college football history, Auburn will head back to their second National Championship in four years. The Tigers will be up against the hottest team in College Football, the Florida State Seminoles. Florida State has not been back to the National Championship in over ten years and remains the only ACC team to have won in the BCS’s 15 year history. Ironically the Seminoles played in the first ever BCS Championship Game in 1998 so it’s only fitting that the team see’s the Bowl Championship Series’ final game.
On paper both teams look fairly comparable. Both Florida State and Auburn have an explosive play maker under center in Jameis Winston and Nick Marshall respectively. While Auburn’s rushing combo includes Marshall and Tre Mason, Florida State counts on their two headed backfield in Devonta Freeman and Karlos Williams. Where the two teams differ offensively is game plans. The Seminoles love their combo at wide outs in Rashad Greene and Kelvin Benjamin both of whom will finish the 2013-2014 season with 1,000+ receiving yards. While it would appear that Florida State is an air attack offense with almost 1,500 more yards through the air , their touchdown production is split right down the middle with 40 passing TD’s and 41 rushing TD’s. Auburn on the other hand is a clear cut ground and pound offense. With Mason and Marshall both well over 1,000 yards rushing, the #1 defense in the FBS for points allowed has one task come January 6 and that’s stop the run, something they have failed to do effectively all year.
The key to keeping the National Championship Trophy in the state of Alabama is run, run, run. Coming into the game as the #1 rushing offense in the FBS the Tigers will create huge opportunities if they can maintain this kind of production. Long drives sustained by the Tigers run game means Jameis Winston stays on the sideline and the clock continues to run. Florida State’s advantage will increase every snap Winston takes on the field. With their big play ability through the air and Auburns 260 passing yards allowed per game Jameis Winston and Kelvin Benjamin only spell disaster for the Tigers secondary.
The 2014 BCS National Championship at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California will likely come down to a defensive battle as to which team can stop the big plays from happening, but with Heisman candidates in the huddle on both sides of the ball it’ll will prove to be a task easier said than done.

BCS Championship Game at the Rose Bowl Address: 1001 Rose Bowl Dr, Pasadena, California, 91103
The 2014 BCS Championship Game is returning to the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena for the fourth time. The same stadium that hosts “The Granddaddy of Them All” has hosted some legendary BCS Championships. The 2002 game wasn’t close on the scoreboard, but was won by a Miami Hurricanes team that many people consider the most talented college football team of all-time. The 2006 BCS between Texas and USC was also loaded with talented players, and turned out to be one of the top bowl games in history. In 2009, the Longhorns returned to the BCS at the Rose Bowl only to be topped by Alabama. The Rose Bowl is an old school college football stadium (opened in 1922) that is setup like a bowl. A national landmark, the stadium holds approximately 94,000 fans for the BCS Championship Game.
There are 28 sections at the Rose Bowl, with each section divided into a lower and upper portion. The rows in the lower section start lettered (in reverse order) and then move from rows 1-25. That means that row A and row 1 are right next to each other. On the ends of the field, row N is typically the 1st row closest to the field. The same holds true on West side of the stadium (Sections 17-19) and East side of the stadium (Sections 3-5). The low rows on the side of the field can often be obstructed by players on the field, in-fact for UCLA home games they tarp off the lowest rows on East Side and start at row B. The upper sections are generally numbered from row 29 to row 77 (49 rows) on the sides of the field, while the upper sections on the ends of the field are generally numbered from row 30 to row 77 (48 rows). The rows at the Rose Bowl can be a bit confusing, contact us at TicketCity if you need help determining how close to the field your seats are located.
BCS Championship Event Guide
What time does the 2014 BCS Championship game kickoff?
The scheduled kickoff time of the VIZIO BCS Championship game is 5:30pm PST, which is 8:30pm EST.
Where is the best place to stay around the Rose Bowl?
Pasadena is close by, but lacks some of the attractions of other surrounding cities. Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and Santa Monica are all within 30 minutes (no traffic) and provide a lot of cool options for lodging, dining and entertainment. Just keep in-mind that the L.A. traffic will likely require 1.5 hours to get to the stadium on gameday, so leave early. Parking is typically plentiful at the Rose Bowl, but the BCS Championship sets up hospitality tents that take away much of that. Contact TicketCity if you need help with BCS parking or hospitality passes for the BCS Championship.
Where is the best place to sit inside the Rose Bowl for the BCS Championship?
The Rose Bowl is true bowl stadium, which means it’s wide compared to the modern stadiums that are built straight up in the air (e.g.- AT&T Cowboys Stadium in Dallas). The advantage of this wide setup is that fans often say there isn’t a bad view in the house, or at least that the view is consistent as you get higher in rows. The one area to be careful is with the lowest rows on the side of the field, some of your view may get blocked out by the players on the sideline.
The College Football Playoff Championship Game will determine the national champion in Division I college football. The game will match up the winners from the two CFP semifinal games in a true championship game. Since Princeton and Rutgers split the college football national championship in 1869, there has often been controversy surrounding who is the true champion. The playoff format will bring together the top four teams to settle the debate on the field.
The championship game will be played on Monday night in primetime. The two opponents will have won their semifinal bowl games a week prior to earn their berth. The winner of College Football Championship Game will be awarded a new trophy, which breaks away from the former tradition of a crystal football.
2015 College Football Championship Game preview
At around 8pm EST on January 12, 2015, the 2015 College Football Championship Game will kickoff at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The national championship game will match up the two College Football Playoff semifinal winners. The inaugural championship game is being played in the billion-dollar football palace that Jerry Jones built for the Dallas Cowboys, which is an appropriate setting for such an important game.
January 6th, 2014 is the date for the 2014 BCS Championship Game. That game will be the final BCS championship and played at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California.

The kickoff time for the College Football Championship Game will be posted here as soon as it is announced. It will presumably be an 8pm Eastern or later kick to accommodate the Monday night primetime slot.
Which teams are most likely to play in the inaugural College Football Playoff Championship Game?
The first year of a playoff in college football is sure to bring some surprises, but it is likely safe to assume the CFP finalists will come from the big five power conferences (ACC, Big 10, Big 10, Pac 12 & SEC). A candidate from the SEC could be Alabama, Florida, LSU or Texas A&M. Likely Big 10 candidates include Ohio State and Michigan. The Big 12 could send a variety of teams including Oklahoma, Oklahoma State or Texas. The Pac 12 has strong candidates in Oregon, Stanford and Washington. The newly expanded ACC has Clemson, Florida State and Louisville to carry the flag. A way too early prediction for the 2015 College Football Championship Game is Oregon versus LSU.

2010 BCS Championship game Texas and Alabama My son and I are alumnae of UT, and decided to take his son, my grandson to the Texas, Alabama game in Pasadena. After buying 3 tickets, my son could not get off work and my grandson got sick a couple of days before the game! So my wife agreed to join me. Usually we get lost where ever we go together, but this time we drove from Vegas and didn't get lost once! We didn't get lost going to the game either, even though we had to take a train, a bus and walk a mile to get to the stadium. We did enjoy the day, but we not only lost the game, we lost our QB in the first quarter! A day to remember and a night to forget !!! However, we now have tickets for the three of us to go to Dallas and watch UT beat OU. Go Horn's !!!!!!!!!!!! August 31, 2010
Rose Bowl Made Even A Loss A Great Event With the hills in the background of gorgeous Pasadena, it's hard not to have a great time at the Rose Bowl - even if your team loses. Especially if you have a chance to follow your team to the BCS in the Rose Bowl venue, it's an experience not to be missed. And no matter where the BCS happens to be, you'll run into fun fans like this photo attached. (Yes, that's an Oregon "O" on his head.) June 22, 2011
