Future BCS Games - Upcoming BCS Bowl Locations
The BCS National Championship game is played at a different location each year in a rotating fashion. Each year, the game is played at a BCS Bowl stadium, and acquires the sponsorship of that bowl game. The BCS National Championship game is scheduled to appear at the following locations in the future:
It is important to note that the current contract between the Bowl Championship Series and the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange Bowls is set to expire in 2010, possibly making room for an additional or different BCS Bowl game. The Bowl Championship Series has already added a fifth game – The BCS National Championship Game – and it is very likely it could add another.
The Cotton Bowl Classic has started campaigning to join the list of BCS Bowls since it has decided to change locations. The Cotton Bowl Classic will move from the aging Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas to the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The new stadium accommodates 80,000 fans, with the possibility of expansion to accommodate 100,000. If the Cotton Bowl joins the BCS Bowls in their current rotating format, the Cotton Bowl stadium and sponsor will host the BCS National Championship game. Due to current agreements, the earliest the Cotton Bowl could join the BCS games would be 2015.
