The Capital One Bowl, with its slogan "The Little Bowl with the Big Heart", is an annual college football bowl game played at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The game has gone by different names since its inception in 1947 – the Tangerine Bowl, the Florida Citrus Bowl, and the Capital One Florida Citrus Bowl. The Capital One Bowl sits just below the top tier Bowl Championship Series (BCS) bowls, and gets the first choice after the BCS from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Big Ten. The 2007 game was between Wisconsin and Arkansas. In a close game, the Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 17-14 in their second Capital One Bowl victory in two years.
The Capital One Bowl game is the third oldest non-BCS game and happens to have the largest payout of all non-BCS bowls. Only the Cotton Bowl and the Sun Bowl have been in operation longer. The game has an illustrious past with appearances from future NFL stars like Chris Collinsworth, Garrison Hearst, Peyton Manning, and Plaxico Burress.
The Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Florida is also the site of Capital One Bowl. It is one of the older stadiums in the nation, having opened in 1936. Be one of the 70,000 plus fans at the Citrus Bowl. Buy Capital One Bowl tickets and be a part of college football history!
