The Insight Bowl is an annual postseason college football bowl game played in Tempe, Arizona. The game features teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten conferences. Previous conference tie-ins included teams from the Big East and Pac-10. The Insight Bowl was originally called the Copper Bowl and was first played in 1989. The bowl game was played in Phoenix and then moved to Tucson before settling at its current location in Tempe. Insight Enterprises took over sponsorship in 1996 and changed the name to reflect the partnership.
The largest comeback in a postseason college game took place at the 2006 Insight Bowl when Texas Tech overcame a 38-7 deficit in the third quarter to beat Minnesota 44-41 in overtime. The bowl has also featured NFL stars such as Marc Bulger and Drew Bledsoe.
Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, site of the Insight Bowl, is also the home of the Arizona State Sun Devils, and has a capacity of nearly 74,000. The stadium has been host to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals as well as the Fiesta Bowl and the first stand-alone NCAA Championship game in 2007.
