Little Caesars Pizza Bowl Games:
The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl is an annual postseason college football bowl game played in Detroit, Michigan. Originally called the Motor City Bowl and jointly sponsored by Ford, GM, and Chrysler, the game features teams from the Mid-American Conference and Big Ten Conference. The Big East is a backup conference tie-in in case the Big Ten doesn't have a bowl-eligible team to field. As of 2009, Little Caesars Pizza took over primary sponsorship of the bowl and recieved naming rights, thus becoming the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
As the Motor City Bowl, The Little Caesars Pizza Bowl was first played in 1997 at the Pontiac Silverdome. It has since moved to Ford Field in Detroit. The game has showcased the talents of NFL players such as Byron Leftwich and Chad Pennington. It is the first bowl game played in Detroit since the now-defunct Cherry Bowl played in 1984 and 1985, and the only bowl played in the Midwest. The 2006 game was played between Central Michigan and Middle Tennessee in which Dan LeFevour proved to be one of the most promising freshman quarterbacks in the nation.
Ford Field, site of the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, is a 65,000 seat indoor football arena in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The stadium is known for the large amount of natural light let in through the massive skylights in the ceiling. Scandal makes a better game! This should be a much better game. The usual Big Ten #8 team that probably can't beat Toledo may be replaced by a top 25 Penn State team because of the scandal. Therefore, this bowl gets a scandal marred team with a top ten defense to play an offensive powerhouse. This is a real game possibility, and the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl becomes much better!
