Military Bowl Preview History
2013 Military Bowl Preview
The 2013 Military Bowl will be played on Friday, December 27th at 2:30 PM between the Maryland Terrapins and the Marshall Thundering Heard.Marshall looks to be only very slightly favored in the contest, but the Herd's RaKeem Cato will be trying to air it out early. The strong-armed QB has 3,579 yards and 36 touchdowns on the season, especially when connected with his favorite target, Tommy Shuler. The wideout had over 90 receptions and over 1,000 yards through the air. Maryland has issues with stopping offenses once they reach the red zone, so watch for Cato to try to connect with Shuler early and often.
Maryland went 1-2 and score only 18 points a game without quarteback C.J. Brown, and 7-2 with 32 points a game with him. The two-touchdown difference is a testament to how good Brown can be. Brown can run with the best of them, and the Terrapins went 4-0 when he rushed for over 100 yards this season. Maryland will also have the closest thing to homefield advantage as the game is being played in Annapolis.
2011 Military Bowl Game Preview:
The 2011 Military Bowl will feature the Air Force Falcons against the Toledo Rockets. The Rockets won 8 games this year playing in the Mid American conference and had close losses against both Ohio State and Syracuse. Air Force is from the Mountain West conference and brings in a 7-5 overall record. This matchup looks to be very balanced, so expect this to be a close game. Both teams played Boise State this year, with the Falcons losing a close one and the Rockets getting beat by 25 points.
2010 Military Bowl Preview:
The 2010 Military Bowl should be a great game as it matches up the local Maryland Terrapins from the ACC against Conference USA’s East Carolina Pirates. Ralph Friedgen’s Terps are coming into the game off a big win against NC State and should bring a lot fans from Maryland’s nearby College Park campus. East Carolina is playing in their first bowl game under Head Coach Ruffin McNeil; a win for the Pirates would let them finish the season with a 7-6 record. The 2010 Military Bowl sponsored by Northrop Grumman is being played on December 29th at RFK Stadium in Washington DC.
