Played every year since 2001, the New Orleans Bowl takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl in mid-December and this year will pit the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns against the East Carolina Pirates. Both ECU and Louisiana-Lafayette are looking for their 9th win of the season, and the Ragin Cajuns have the extra incentive of playing close to home. The scene in downtown New Orleans is always fun and exciting, adding a little football to the fray will make it a great experience for any college football fan.

The New Orleans Bowl kicks off on the first day of the 2011-2012 bowl season, Saturday, December 17th. The 2011 New Orleans Bowl matches up the San Diego State Aztecs and the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Aztecs finished 8-4 in the Mountain West conference, while the Ragin Cajuns put up an 8-4 record in the Sun Belt conference.
