The Sun Bowl is an annual postseason college football bowl game played in El Paso, Texas. The official name of the game is the Brut Sun Bowl, since Brut-maker Helen of Troy took over sponsorship. Former sponsors include John Hancock, Norwest, Wells Fargo, and Vitalis. The game features Pac-12 Conference team against a rotating opponent from the Big 12 or Big East Conferences or Notre Dame as an independent.

The Sun Bowl is the second oldest bowl game in college football history. First played in 1935, the game has been played 73 times. The game also represents the longest running relationship between a bowl game and a television network. CBS has broadcastd the game since 1968. Thurman Thomas and Priest Holmes are just a couple of the future NFL stars to play in the historic game.

The game has been played at the Sun Bowl Stadium since 1963. Before then the Sun Bowl was played at Kidd Stadium and before that at El Paso High School Stadium. The Sun Bowl Stadium is on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso. The stadium has a capacity of 51,500 and has the distinction of being America's closest major stadium to a foreign country, with Mexico only a few miles away.
