2011-2012 Virginia Tech Hokies College Basketball Preview:
A challenging schedule awaits the Hokies this year. However the team's leader, Coach Seth Greenberg, describes it as a lineup that will toughen the team for the ACC division and put it in position to play great post season basketball, according to Hokiesports.
An exhibition game versus the University of Windsor this summer showcased the talents of freshman prospect Dorian Finney-Smith, who led the team with 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 73-61 victory. Sophomore Cadarian Raines was also a factor, putting up 12 points and eight rebounds. The returning player hit six of nine from the field, showing off his elite shooting abilities.
The defense showed up too, which makes the upcoming season look good for the team's ability to hold their opponent's scores down. They outrebounded the Lancers 39-27, which will play into the Hokies' hopes when they reach their division games in 2012. For new and diehard fans it looks like another exciting year for Hokie basketball.
