Colorado would then see a downturn in fortunes until the 1990’s under coach Ricardo Patton, who would finally lead the Buffaloes back to the NCAA’s with the help of players like Chauncey Billups. Colorado has competed in ten NCAA tournaments, and has won one National Invitational Tournament in 1940.
