2011-2012 Seton Hall Pirates College Basketball Preview:
Seton Hall had some close games last year, and is looking to spring back from some tough divisional match-ups they encountered in 2010-2011. This year fans saw the last of standout player Jeremy Hazel, whom coach Kevin Willard described as "impossible to replace."
Despite the loss of their best player, the Pirates still have two secret weapons in returning seniors Jordan Theodore and Herb Pope. Coach Willard has high hopes for these young gentlemen and fans may see these two powerhouses slide easily into leadership roles and establish themselves early. Theodore scored 11 points per game last year and will likely be adding to his already impressive shooting abilities.
Herb Pope spent a little time with former NBA coach John Lucas in a basketball clinic this summer and is said to be healthy and markedly improved. The 6' 8" forward from Pennsylvania was the 2009-10 Big East leading rebounder, as well as a commanding physical presence on defense. Seton Hall has got some serious talent this year. Fans shouldn't blink during the game, lest they miss some of this explosive gameplay.
