2008-2009 Northwestern Wildcats Basketball Preview:
Coming off a disappointing season in 2007, the Northwestern Wildcats are looking better heading into this season. Kevin Coble will be returning, and will be posting number for the Wildcats. Look out for Craig Moore and Michael Thompson to step up and sink some three-pointers. Coach Bill Carmody will be looking to add a few more wins to column, and will be shaping his team for seasons to come.

The Northwestern Wildcats are an NCAA men's basketball team playing in the Big Ten Conference. Northwestern began playing basketball in 1901. The team won their last conference title in 1933, and have never appeared in an NCAA Tournament, despite having hosted the first ever NCAA Division I Championship game in 1939. The Wildcats have appeared in the NIT only three times.
The Wildcats play their home games at the Welsh-Ryan Arena, which has a capacity of 8,117. The multi-purpose arena is located in Evanston, Illinois, and was opened in 1952. The arena hosted the 1956 NCAA Final Four.
