The Badgers, who made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen in the 2007-08 season, are looking leaner and stronger. This team is consistently making their shots, and are a promising bet for to make the 2008-09 NCAA Tournament. In fact, the team has made the NCAA Tournament for 10 seasons straight - how's that for consistency? The Wisconsin Badgers started as a basketball program in 1898, winning thier first Big Ten Conference championship in 1907. In 1911, Walter Meanwell coached the Badgers to a 15-0 record, undefeated for the season. Meanwell would lead the Badgers to another undefeated season in 1913-14. During Meanwell's tenure, the Badgers would win eight conference championships. The Badgers reached the Final Four in 1941 (capturing the national title), and as recently as 2000. Wisconsin is always a team to beat in the highly competitive Big Ten Conference.
The Wisconsin Badgers play their home games at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The facility is home to the men's and women's basketball team, as well as the men's and women's ice hockey teams. Currently, the maximum capacity during home basketball games is 17,190.
