Kansas Jayhawks NCAA Tourament Tickets Information

The Kansas Jayhawks can be classified as one of the more prestigious programs in college basketball due to a resume that is hard to match. The Jayhawks have the second most wins in college basketball history with over 2,100 victories and have had over 95 winning seasons. The Jayhawks have sent numerous players to the NBA and have participated in over 40 NCAA Tournaments. Kansas has won more than 95 tournament games, advancing to the Elite Eight over 20 times, playing in the Final Four an impressive 13+times, and winning the national championship three times in program history.

Kansas rise to national prominence dates back to 1940 when they advanced all the way to the national championship, but lost to the Indiana Hoosiers. The Jayawks returned to the national championship in 1952 and defeated St. John’s 80-63 for their first college basketball title. Outside of the 1960s, Kansas has reached the Final Four in every decade since the 1950s, a feat that is hard to match by any other college basketball program. The Jayhawks won their second national championship in 1988 behind head coach Larry Brown and their third national championship in 2008 under Bill Self.

The Jayhawks never won a national championship under Roy Williams, but the former Kansas head coach led a remarkable run for the team that plays at Allen Fieldhouse. Williams led the Jayhawks to a number one ranking in six different seasons, making the NCAA Tournament in all of the seasons Williams coached which stretched for over 15 years, competing in four Final Fours and playing in the national championship game twice. Williams has also coached many players who developed into NBA stars in their careers.
