The big story in the South Region of the 2013 NCAA Tournament was a school that had only been around since 1991 and was making its first tournament appearance. The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles became the first #15 seed ever to advance to the Sweet 16 where they ended up losing to the tournament favorite Florida Gators. The Gators found themselves up against the Wolverines who also made history when they beat Florida to advance to the Final Four for the first time since the Fab Five. The FedEx Forum is next on the docket for the South Regional as 2014 Sweet 16 sends the South teams to Nashville, Tennessee.
