2011-2012 San Diego State Aztecs College Basketball Preview:
As part of the Mountain West Conference, the San Diego State Aztecs men's basketball team constantly has its work cut out for it. However, the organization was able to go 34-3 last season, winning 14 games at home, making it a dangerous place for opposing squads to play. This year, expect the Aztecs to bring much of the same heat.
On the offensive side of the court, San Diego State has a number of high-powered players who won't make it easy for opposing defenses, including Tim Shelton, Jamaal Franklin and Xavier Thames. Not only do these individuals bring talent to the squad, but they are also some of the best shooters in the conference.
Defensively, the Aztecs are expected to show signs of improvement as well. With the likes of James Rahon, Alec Williams and Garrett Green, opposing teams are likely to face an uphill battle as they attempt to drive to the basket.
Although finishing the 2010-11 season with just three losses may not seem like a bad thing, San Diego State still sees room for improvement. That being said, the team is predicted to bring its A game to the court this year.
