2011-2012 Wyoming Cowboys College Basketball Preview:
The Wyoming Cowboys men's basketball team finished the 2010-11 season with a disappointing 10-21 record, losing all 11 away games to their opponents. However, the Cowboys have proven to be a dominant force on their home court, finishing 10-7 last year. Expect head coach Larry Shyatt to take this positive note and use it as an inspiration in the 2011-12 season.
On offense, Wyoming has shown improvement and will be a competitive force in the Mountain West Conference with a number of high-powered forwards. Leonard Washington, Tyrone Marshall and Lekan Ajayi are expected to put up points this season, helping the team through its reconstruction period.
Defensively, the Cowboys are expected to improve as well. Arthur Bouedo, Jack Bentz and Luke Martinez will all bring various talents to the court, ranging from blocking to getting under the net and forcing turnovers. Although the Cowboys may not bounce back enough to make it to the Sweet 16, they are likely to give their conference rivals a little trouble as they attempt to create a foundation for a better team.
