Venue: Lucas Oil Stadium
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
2013 Midwest Regional Preview:
Lucas Oil Stadium will under-go a transformation that will turn the Colts home into the setting for the 2013 men's Midwest Regional. As expected Louisville was able to get through the bracket with ease and knock off the #16 and #8 seeds in the second and third rounds to get to the Sweet 16. However, their opponent in the Sweet 16, Oregon, pulled out upsets at all the stops getting through #5 Oklahoma State and #4 Saint Louis to advance to the regional. Louisville has been unstoppable thus far in the tournament but will be forced to keep up with the challenging fast break offense of the Oregon Ducks.
The second Sweet 16 game of the Indianapolis tournament will pit two very historic college basketball programs, #3 Michigan State and #2 Duke. Duke didn't seem to struggle much during its bracket challenges in the second and third rounds though Creighton did offer some stiff competition. Michigan State ran in to some early troubles with Memphis but found their rhythm later in the second half for the win. With two offenses that are capable of getting up by ten within seconds, defense will be the key to the winner of the Spartan - Blue Devil game.
The Sweet 16 is set to begin and the bracket looks more competitive than ever. Don't miss any of the action as Michigan State and Duke play for a spot against either Louisville or Oregon among the NCAA'a Elite 8. Games at Lucas oil Stadium begin with Louisville and Oregon on March 29 at 7:15pm followed by Michigan State and Duke at 9:45pm.
