2011-2012 ASU Sun Devils College Basketball Preview:
The 2011-12 season will be a rebuilding one for the Sun Devils thanks to the loss of three-quarters of their top shooters from the previous season. Head coach Herb Sendak hopes an influx of new talent will bring ASU to the top of the Pac-12, and away from the previous years of dwelling at the bottom of the standings.
The focus here is on point guard Jahii Carson, the freshman phenom who comes into Tempe with high expectations on his shoulders. The Phoenix native is a natural savior for his home-state school, and with help from former Iowa State point guard and transfer Chris Colvin, will look to run a faster team.
Returning forward Trent Lockett, the team’s leading scorer last year, will be looking forward to being the recipient of the faster play and high-scoring offense the team hopes will rise their fortunes in the Pac-12.
