2008-2009 Tennessee Volunteers Basketball Preview:
The University of Tennessee Volunteers basketball program has witnessed one of the fastest program turnarounds ever in the last few years.  Since the arrival of Coach Bruce Pearl, the Tennessee Volunteers have gone from having a losing season to making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.  In Pearl’s second year, the Tennessee Vols managed to win the East Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and made it to the Sweet Sixteen, losing a 20-point lead to Greg Oden and the Ohio State Buckeyes, who continued on to the Final Four and the title game against NCAA Champions, the Florida Gators.  A home game at Tennessee is an awe-inspiring experience.  You’ll sit in a sea of orange and white in the vast Thompson-Boling Arena.  The arena erupts when the team enters and you may hear thousands of voices join in singing “Fight Vols Fight”.

TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS BASKETBALL EXPERIENCE:
Location:
 Knoxville, Tennessee
Stadium: Thompson-Boling Arena
Conference: SEC Conference
Rivals: Florida Gators
Nicknames: Tennessee Vols Basketball

Historically, Tennessee Volunteers holds four SEC Conference Titles.  Some of the great players to wear the orange and white include Bernard King, Dale Ellis, and Allan Houston.  Playing in the ultra-competitive SEC has provided the Tennessee Volunteers with great rivalries.  The most well known is the “Border War” against the University of Kentucky Wildcats. The two schools are only three hours apart, on I-75.  Playing more than 200 games in their history, the Kentucky game is always sold out. The Tennessee Volunteers play their home games at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.  “The Summit” as it’s also known is a large 24,535-seat multi-purpose arena, and is the largest arena ever built solely for basketball in the nation.  Watching the Kentucky-Tennessee game at the Summit is an incredible college basketball experience.  Buy Tennessee Volunteers basketball tickets, and watch the Tennessee Volunteers continue their extraordinary return to prominence!
