The Virginia Tech Hokies have been one of the top teams in college football for well over a decade, but they have yet to win a National Title during that span. They played for one when Michael Vick led his team to the Sugar Bowl, but have yet to get that elusive crystal football. 2009 might the season that the Hokies and Head Coach Frank Beamer get over the hump. VaTech returns an impressive array of talent from 2008 including quarterback Tyrod Taylor. If Taylor can get the offense rolling, defensive coordinator Bud Foster gets the defense going and Beamer gets their special teams playing "Beamer Ball," then look out for the Hokies. Virginia Tech fans just might find themselves doing the Hokie Pokey in Pasadena in early January 2010.

Some of the most well-known players to have worn the maroon and orange are Michael Vick, Bruce Smith, and Antonio Freeman. Who can forget Michael Vick's 288 yards of total offense in the Hokies' 2000 defeat of West Virginia 48-20 to win the Black Diamond Trophy?
