2014 Alabama Season Preview
Only in Alabama is an 11-win season a failure, but that’s what Nick Saban was saddled with after the 2013 season. The Tide lost the biggest, most exciting game of the season to Auburn, then got routed in the Sugar Bowl by Oklahoma. Alabama was still one of the best teams in the country, but you won’t find a Tide fan that was happy with last season. Luckily for them, Saban and Bama have no intentions of losing two games this time around. Even without AJ McCarron, the Tide will be one of the favorites to win the conference and the national title once again. Alabama will return RB T.J. Yeldon and WR Amari Cooper and will be starting Jacob Coker at QB. They also have a slew of freshman that were big-time recruits that could have a big impact this season. Alabama will kick off the season with a game against West Virginia at the Georgia Dome, and then will start SEC play on Sept. 20 against the Florida Gators. They’ll play the Texas A&M Aggies at home on Oct. 18, then two weeks later Bama travels to the Bayou to face off against LSU. The Iron Bowl will be one of the most anticipated games of the season once again, and it’s set for Nov. 29.
