Heart Stopping Experience! This was one of the best games of the year! The new Cowboy's Stadium was great (roof was closed so we were not cold)! RECENT BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES

BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HISTORY
The first Big 12 Championship game was played in 1996 between the Texas Longhorns and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Cornhuskers came in to the game as heavy favorites over the Longhorns, but UT quarterback James Brown and running back Priest Holmes led Texas to a shocking 37-27 upset. UT's victory earned the school the inaugurual Big 12 Championship football crown. Since that year the Big 12 Championship has been won by teams from the North & South divisions; with the Oklahoma Sooners winning the most overall Big 12 titles. 

The location of the Big 12 Championship football game has moved around to stadiums within the Big 12 Conference, before finally settling at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The inaugural game was played in St. Louis at the Trans World Dome (now called the Edward Jones Dome). The game was played in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Reliant Stadium in Houston and Texas Stadium in Dallas (former home of the Dallas Cowboys).

The most recent Big 12 Championship was played between Oklahoma and Nebraska in 2010; a game that OU won 13-10. That game was the last scheduled championship game until the Big 12 Conference expands to again include 12 teams.
