Bowl Games:
The Iowa State Cyclones began playing football in 1892. Iowa State saw some of its first real success under Coach Johnny Majors who'd take the Cyclones to their first bowl game, the Sun Bowl in 1971. Earl Bruce would take the Cyclones to a Peach Bowl in 1977 and a Hall of Fame Bowl in '78. Dan McCarney would take over the coaching job in 1994, and before leaving after the 2006 season he'd lead the Cyclones to 5 bowl games. Some of the great Iowa State players and coaches over the years include Pop Warner, George Amundsen, Seneca Wallace, and Ellis Hobbs.
The Iowa State Cyclones play their home games at Jack Trice Stadium in front of a capacity crowd of 55,000. The stadium is named for the Cyclones' first African-American athlete, and the first athlete to die during an athletic event at Iowa State. For the Big 12 school with the smallest athletic budget, a game at Jack trice Stadium lacks nothing in tradition and fan support. Buy Iowa State Cyclones football tickets today and watch these underdogs assert themselves as a Big 12 power to be reckoned with!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed going to Jack Trice Stadium in Ames to see Iowa State football. It was a win-win situation (for the family and the team) and we will be going back again this year. Thanks for the great seats and a great time! August 10, 2010
