Texas Tech joined the Southwest Conference in 1960 and then the Big 12 in 1996. The Red Raiders are the only team in the Big 12 with a winning season every year since joining, and they rank 5th in the country in consecutive winning seasons behind only Florida State, Michigan, Florida, and Virginia Tech. Tech has played in 8 bowl games in the last 8 years and is proving the program to be one of college football's elite.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders play their home games at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. Opened in 1946, the stadium holds 53,000 spectators. Although Jones Stadium has seen recent upgrades, it still has the beautiful original façade, a reminder of the rich football tradition in Lubbock.
