2014 Colorado Season Preview
The Buffaloes have struggled on the gridiron since leaving the Big 12 in 2010. But 2nd year head coach Mike Macintyre has the expectations in Boulder coming into 2014 are as high as they have been in a number of years. The Buffaloes will have to replace standout receiver Paul Richardson, but freshmen talents Shay Fields, and Nelson Spruce should be able to step in and contribute right away. Also look for another pair of talented freshmen, defensive ends Derek McCartney, and Christian Shaver to have an instant impact on the Buffs improving defensive front. Colorado has a good chance of becoming bowl eligible for the first time since 2007. Key games for the Buffaloes bowl hopes will be week 1 against Colorado State in the Rocky Mountain Showdown, September 27th at Cal, and November 29th against Utah.

Colorado Buffaloes Football at Folsom Field Address: 2400 Colorado Ave, Boulder, Colorado, 80302
The Colorado Buffaloes play their home games at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. Originally known as Colorado Stadium, the facility was renamed in 1944 after the death of legendary Colorado Coach Fred Folsom, who coached the Buffs between 1895 and 1915. Folsom Field holds almost 54,000 spectators as well as providing a state of the art press box, luxury boxes and suites, and club seating. Visitors to “the hilltop” will be awed by this beautiful old stadium, and the backdrop provided by the Flatiron Mountains. The Colorado Buffaloes home bench is on the Folsom Field sideline with sections 115-120. Folsom Field parking information is covered in our Buffaloes event guide.
Colorado vs. Nebraska
These former Big 8 and Big 12 opponents are no strangers to playing each other. The Buffalos and Cornhuskers played for 63 consecutive years from 1948-2010 with Nebraska gaining a firm advantage in the series. Both teams have achieved major victories against the other, and this is one of the few matchups in the country that is always primed for an upset.
Colorado vs. Colorado State
Held yearly at a neutral site in Denver, the “Rocky Mountain Showdown” is the most anticipated all Colorado game of the season. With both teams’ fans filling Sports Authority Field, the stadium is never quiet from start to finish. Colorado has made this a very lopsided rivalry over the years, bringing the “Centennial Cup” back to Boulder almost every year. Despite Colorado’s dominance in wins, the games are always energetic and among of the best in Colorado every season.

Colorado Buffaloes Football 1 1
College Football at the foot of the Rockies Folsom Field, in Boulder, is one of the most picturesque locations for College Football in all of America. The campus crawls with Buffalo fans and Tailgaters on Game Day. One of my favorite traditions at CU is the Golden Buffalo marching band marching from there central campus practice location to Folsom Field just before game time. Whether you’re a Buffalo fan or not, Ralphie leading the team on the field is sure to get the blood flowing!! The stadium itself has been upgraded in recent years with the addition of the East Side Club and there is not a bad seat in the place!! GO BUFFS!!! August 26, 2010
