Navy first fielded a football team in 1879. In 1926 Navy would share its lone National Championship with 2 other teams, when Navy, Alabama, and Stanford all had undefeated seasons. Navy has produced two Heisman Trophy winners - Joe Bellino in 1960 and Roger Staubach in 1963. Starting in 2003, Navy has improved tremendously each year, and the Midshipmen will look to continue that trend.
Navy plays their home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. Maryland. The yearly Army-Navy game, however, isn't played in Annapolis. Instead it takes place at a neutral site in Philadelphia, Baltimore, or East Rutherford, New Jersey.
