Navy Midshipmen Football Season Preview History

Navy Midshipmen Football Season Preview History

2011 Navy Midshipmen Football Preview:
If there's one service academy that has dominated the college football scene as of late it's Navy. Not only have the midshipmen been the best of the military schools, they have also been among the most consistent teams across the board, even earning three wins in the last four years against archrival Notre Dame and a run of eight straight bowl games.

Much of Navy's success over the several years has been due to their impressive running game. That will be the case this year, as the offense will be led by first-year starter Kriss Proctor. However, he won't be the only weapons as fullback Alex Teich is one of the hardest runners in the NCAA, and Gee Gee Greene is a reliable tailback.

The defense may be one of the few holes on this talented Navy team, as it was some of the time last season. Only three starters are back from last year's squad and it may be difficult to make up for the losses. Still, they have a strong defensive end in senior Jabaree Tuani, who will be the leader of a squad that will hope to balance out a team that looks to continue its ride into post-season play.

2009 Navy Football Preview:
Head Coach:
 Ken Niumatalolo
The Navy Midshipmen will be looking for another successful season in 2009. Navy Head Coach Ken Niumatalolo enters his second full season and hopes to take his squad to their 3rd straight bowl game. For Navy to succeed Coach Ken will need to once again crank up their running game. Their high powered triple option running attack should once again be one of the best offenses in all of college football, so watch out for Navy in 2009.

2008 Navy Football Preview:
Head Coach:
Ken Niumatalolo
After finishing the 2007 season with a respectable record of 8-4 and, perhaps more importantly, with wins over archrivals Army, Notre Dame, and the Air Force Academy; the Navy Midshipmen football team will be an exciting program to watch this coming year. The Midshipmen have gone to 5 bowl games in the last 5 years. Under New Coach Ken Niumatalolo, Navy will vie for another Commander in Chief's Trophy and a BCS bowl bid next season. The Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will be an amazing place to be this season as Navy tries to once again become a national power.
