Address: 1800 S 4th St, Ames, Iowa, 50011

The Iowa State Cyclones play their home games at Jack Trice Stadium in front of a capacity crowd of 55,000. The stadium is named for the Cyclones' first African-American athlete, and the first athlete to die during an athletic event at Iowa State. For the Big 12 school with the smallest athletic budget, a game at Jack trice Stadium lacks nothing in tradition and fan support. The Iowa State Cyclones home bench is on the Jack Trice Stadium sideline with sections 17-32. Jack Trice Stadium parking information is covered in our Cyclones event guide.

Iowa State Cyclones Rivals

Iowa State vs. Missouri

The battle for “Telephone Trophy” is one of the oldest rivalries in the Midwest. These two teams have met over 100 times, most of which occurred while both were members of the Big 8 and later Big 12 conference. The rivalry has been put on hold with Missouri leaving for the SEC, but fans of both squads hope to see it renewed on upcoming schedules.

Iowa State vs. Iowa

This is the biggest football game in the state of Iowa and when these two teams meet a whole lot of state pride is on the line. The winner of the game takes home the “Cy-Hawk” trophy named after the mascots of both schools. The Hawkeyes dominated the early years of the rivalry, but Iowa State has seen a competitive resurgence over the last decade adding to what has already been one of the best game day environments in Iowa.

Iowa State Cyclones in the BCS National Title and Bowl Games

The Iowa State Cyclones, one of the Big 12’s lesser-known teams, has done extremely well for themselves compiling over 500 wins in their school’s history. The Cyclones are no strangers to bowl games having played in more than 10 and have even collected a couple conference titles along the way. Ticketcity offers tickets to all college football bowl games and the Big 12 Conference Championship Game.

Where can I park at Jack Trice stadium?

The G lots are located just south of the stadium and are first come first serve, they cost $15 - $25. The best lots (closest to stadium) in G2 are G3 but you will need to get their early to get a spot there. There is some very limited public parking on Beach Avenue that also runs $15 - $25 per but it’s extremely limited. National Cyclone Club parking is located north of the stadium for cars and RV’s, however there are donation requirements to purchase these season parking locations. Trolley runs from the parking lots to 8 different stops throughout the stadium complex and is a great way to get around.

What is the best place to sit for a Cyclones game?

Sections 22 through 27 are lower mid-field right behind the home team bench and offer a great view of all the action. The Jack Trice Club section offers a premium experience that includes a complimentary buffet, private bar with beer/wine available to buy, heated/cooled lounge area, reserved parking close to the stadium and TV’s above the exterior seating. One other unique option is the hillside seating general admission section which covers the four corners of the stadium and offers fans an inexpensive option to attend the game.

What is the most popular spot for tailgating before an Iowa State Cyclones Game?

The general public (Non-Cyclone Club Members) lots are opened 6 hours prior to kickoff and are available south of the stadium also at the Hilton Coliseum. RV’s, Buses and vehicles with trailers cost $40 to park. The lots are huge and most are concrete so you have plenty of room and don’t have to worry if it rains/snows. There is a family friendly area called The Cyclone Experience available before the same north of lot S8 that includes the mascot CY, spirit squad, inflatables and other attractions for the children.

What time do the gates open prior to a Cyclones home football game?

All stadium games open ninety minutes prior to the start of the game. It’s best to arrive to avoid delays and missing any of the game.
